Who Ever Said Size Matters?—Mini Spy Cameras

Who would have ever thought that a camera, which takes full color-photographs, could actually be so tiny, it can fit inside a small child’s palm? Well, with today’s amazing technology, mini spy cameras are about the size of a quarter. Believe the saying that size does not matter, because it is true. These mini spy cameras can record with the same quality film and sound as a full-sized camcorder. With a camera this small, you can hide one practically anywhere. No one will be able to find it, because it is too small to be found! Hide the camera in a pencil box. Sneak it inside a pack of cigarettes. Discover your own secret hiding spot, and nobody has to know the camera is there but you!

If you do not want to find your own hiding spot, or think that someone might guess a place where you would stash a mini spy camera, you can also purchase a hidden camera system, in which the mini camera is already inside of an everyday object. Some examples of these tricky hidden camera objects are :
boom box stereos
cute stuffed animals
cell phones
cigarette lighters
pens
desk organizers
alarm clocks

And some of these products are fully fictional, too!

Does Resolution Matter?
Well, that depends on what you need from your mini camera. Basically, the higher the resolution number, the sharper the image will be. So, if you want the pictures to turn out crystal clear, then yes, resolution is important. If you just want to snap a picture and have a basic idea what is happening in the photo, then, no resolution is not that important. Whether or not you are interested in resolution, you should only purchase cameras that use name-brand technology, such as Sony or Toshiba. They are better quality than some of the knock-off brands, and usually have high-resolution, anyway.

What is a Pinhole Camera?
While doing your mini spy camera research, you may have come across some cameras called, Pinhole cameras. Pinhole cameras are a type of mini spy camera that uses a miniature CCD image board with a lens a very small lens opening, usually around one to three millimeters. These mini spy cameras produce real-time images, similar to a large camcorder. All you have to do is hide the pinhole camera in a secure spot. It connects to a recording device and sends the video images that are being recorded to your DVD player, or other viewing device.

If you are looking to catch a babysitter in the wrong, or a housecleaner stealing money from your dresser drawer, trust that a mini spy camera will catch them in the act. Place these mini spy cameras all over your house, and perhaps you will see quite a show.
